Isaiah 46:12-47

Posted by: admin    in Uncategorized

From the human standpoint, from the observations of man, it would seem that everything is in turmoil that the foundations of the whole earth are shaking.  And even those who profess to know Me wonder and cry out, “Where are You?  Don’t You care?  Don’t You see?  Are You not concerned?”  Was it not so among My people in the day spoken of in this portion by My servant Isaiah?  Is it not so that My people, those whom I have called and chosen by My sovereign hand and for My sovereign purpose, are nevertheless stubborn minded and far from righteousness.  Do they not call upon My name?  But is there yet in their hearts a desire to truly yield to Me, to listen and to obey and consider how over and over they are plagued by their enemies?  Consider how arrogant, how proud, how determined those are who seek to destroy My people.  And with what, with what do My people face this threat: with religion, with tradition, with self-righteousness!  If they really would listen, if they really would take heed to My Word, would it continue so?  Would they not come and sit in the dust and cast aside their self-righteousness and their dependence upon the arm of flesh?  But you see in this picture of My judgment upon their enemies that though My people were themselves worthy of judgment, yet because I had set my love upon them, out of that judgment would not come utter destruction, but as it declares here, salvation and the extension of My glory. But for those who have been captured by the spirit of Babylon, for it is not dead, there is no turning away.  They have become altogether drunk, fully enticed, completely given over to that spirit.  And even as I dealt with Babylon of old when it seemed that she was invincible, impregnable, finding security in her sorceries and imbued with a determined hatred for all that is truly of Me, for all that even to a limited degree reflected that they are Mine, so will I deal with the same spirit in it’s modern form.   As suddenly as that judgment came to arrogant, implacable and wicked Babylon, so will it be visited as suddenly and as thoroughly upon those  imbued with that same spirit today.  So do not be despairing concerning the tumult that disturbs, for it presages that sure judgment that you see in this portion and that you will surely see.  I do not ask, I do not require that you rejoice in the judgment.  But I give you these words to encourage you to look beyond the turmoil, beyond the judgment, and then rejoice in that which it will accomplish.

Isaiah 15,16

Posted by: admin    in Isaiah

They never thought that it could happen.  The people of Moab and their leaders felt secure in their wealth, in their pride and so they took security in those things which they had made and those customs which they had practiced.  They worshipped idols, false gods, and the representation of demons.  They heaped up earthly treasures.  They sought influence and power and they scorned My people and on occasion attacked them.  They paid little attention to the words of My prophet.  And here you see their judgment, their end is foretold.  But you may ask, “Father why this word to us today, for it happened long ago?”  And shall I not ask you as you think of this question: “Do you think that it cannot happen again?”  Do you think that My judgment cannot come swiftly and unexpectantly even as it did upon Moab?   Does Moab only represent that ancient nation whose judgment you see described here in the words that I gave to My prophet?  Does Moab not represent the spirit of pride, of idolatry, of rebellion against Me, of enmity towards My people, of the willingness to receive the benefits without recognizing and submitting to Me as their source?  I would ask you, can you recognize in the spirit of Moab something other than that which existed long ago?  Is there today that same spirit which shows complete pride, idolatry and enmity towards My people?  Would you think that many would say, including those bound by that same spirit, that it is working today, even in ever increasing measure?  And if so, would I not set a day and a time for judgment that will come suddenly, unexpectantly, in full measure of devastation that will leave those who have embraced the spirit of Moab as desolate and overwhelmed?  And if you should find it difficult to believe this, what does that mean?  Do you believe that I have changed My standard of measurement so that what Moab and other ungodly nations received in judgment would not then fall on those who manifest that same spirit today?  And would you not, by doubting the sureness and the suddenness with which I will judge as indicating that you have come to believe that I have changed and My standard for righteousness and judgment have changed?  Would you judge that I would not do again to those who manifest the spirit of Moab today what I did in former days and ancient times?  Take consideration of these things when you observe the arrogance, the idolatry and the enmity against My people of those nations who today like Moab of old would say, “Who is to call us into question and judge us?  Who indeed is able to compare with our wealth, with our might?”  Shall not their judgment come as suddenly, as unexpectantly, as completely as awesomely as did that of Moab?

Spirit of babylon

Posted by: admin    in Isaiah

While the ancient city of Babylon and the empire that was built around it to which this word referred has long been destroyed and laid in the dust, the spirit of Babylon which inspired that which I hate and judged has not perished from the earth.  It did not die with the judgment that crushed that ancient city.  It is alive today and still inspires the nations.  And it has inspired those who came against My people Israel, who themselves have been greatly affected and influenced by that spirit.  But this is My promise, and in this I want you to take comfort and be encouraged.  Even as I judged those possessed by this spirit, I have determined and set a time when I will also judge and completely banish the spirit itself.  For did not My servant John see this very thing, and according to the inspiration of My Spirit declare its utter and final destruction?  Do you not see in the attitude of the nations that same stubborn heartedness, that same pride and dependence upon the flesh?  Do not be deceived when you think that it goes on and on, even as it has since the days of old.  But this I would say to you, that when you become too impressed by the arrogance, the pride, the wantonness that is manifested by this spirit, you are in danger of being seduced to its ways.  You are hearing the voice of the enemy telling you that this has gone on since ancient times and that it is perpetual, that this is reality and My Kingdom is fantasy.  And many there are who name the name of My Son who are being seduced, very subtly seduced by this deception.  And it was so even in those ancient times among My people.  But it stands forever, as I have declared that I will grant My salvation to Zion and My glory to Israel, for I have promised to change their hearts so as to love Me and to cherish My Kingdom.  And those who receive such a heart will not be seduced by the spirit of Babylon.  And they will ever choose My Kingdom and they will not be deceived so as to think that reality is with that spirit rather than with My Kingdom.  And with such a heart those who are truly of My Kingdom will be like those three who rather than bow to the spirit of Babylon will choose to be committed to the flames.  Would you receive such a heart as theirs?  Then you shall surely stand when all that represents Babylon is swept away.  If within your hearts you embrace what I am saying, you truly will be among those who will never be deceived or seduced, but you will stand when everything that represents Babylon will fall.
